Privacy Policy

1. Scope and who this covers

This Privacy Policy applies to the VOID game for iOS (“VOID,” “the app”) published by Backz. It describes what information is processed in connection with the app, how that information is handled, and what choices you have.

VOID runs entirely on your device. It needs no network connection to play, and everything it remembers is stored on the phone for the sole purpose of running the game.

2. What data we collect (and do not)

We do not collect personal data from you. In Apple’s sense of App Privacy / “data collection,” VOID does not transmit information about you or your use of the app to Backz, to our servers, or to third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

Specifically, VOID does not:

• Create or require user accounts, emails, or passwords
• Upload scores, progress, settings, or identifiers to a server
• Use analytics SDKs, crash reporters that send logs off-device, advertising networks, or data brokers
• Track you across apps or websites for advertising
• Make network requests while you play: its typefaces, images, and sounds are all inside the app, and the sounds are generated on the device
• Access Contacts, Photos, Camera, Microphone, Location, HealthKit, or Motion data

3. Information stored only on your device

VOID stores the following locally on your device so your progress is there the next time you play:

• Progress: best score, deepest sector reached, and number of runs
• Crystals and suits: the crystals in your bank, the suits you own, and the one you wear
• Missions: your current missions and how far along they are
• Settings: music, sound effects, haptics, reduced flash, and whether you have finished the training run

This information is used on your device to run the game. Backz cannot see, access, or recover it remotely.

4. Device features

Haptics. VOID uses the iPhone’s Taptic Engine for short vibrations during play. This happens entirely on the device. You can turn it off in the game’s Settings.

Sound. Music and sound effects are synthesised on the device. VOID does not use the microphone.

Share sheet. If you tap Share on the results screen, VOID hands a line of text with your score to the iOS share sheet. It leaves your device only if you choose a destination (Messages, Mail, etc.). We do not receive it.

VOID requests no iOS permissions: no notifications, location, camera, photos, or contacts.

5. How information is used

On-device information is used only to:

• Show your best score, bank, suits, missions, and deepest sector
• Pay mission rewards and unlock suits
• Remember your settings and skip the training run once finished

We do not use it for advertising, profiling, or selling. Because we do not receive it, we also do not use it to train models or for research.

6. Sharing with third parties

We do not share user data with third parties because we do not collect it. There are no analytics partners, ad networks, game services, or cloud providers connected to VOID.

If you share your score through the system share sheet, you choose the recipient. That transfer is outside VOID’s control and subject to the privacy practices of the service or person you share with.

This website (https://www.backz.dev) is separate from the app. Visiting these pages may involve ordinary web hosting and browser behavior; it does not give the website access to the progress stored inside VOID on your phone.

7. Retention

Progress remains on your device until you reset it or remove the app. We do not retain a copy because no copy is sent to us.

• It continues for as long as VOID stays installed
• It ends when you use Settings → Reset progress or delete the app (which removes the app’s local storage)

8. Your choices and rights

Because data stays on your device, you control it directly:

• Deletion: Settings → Reset progress, or delete the app
• Haptics and sound: turn them on or off in the game’s Settings

There is no account to delete. If you contact us about privacy, we can explain these controls; we cannot remotely erase or recover progress we never received.

If you are in a region with privacy laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, those rights still matter. In practice, for VOID they are exercised on-device as above, because we hold no personal dataset about you.

9. Children’s privacy

VOID is a general-audience game rated 4+. It does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided information to us through email support, contact us and we will delete that correspondence from our inbox where feasible.

10. Security

On-device data is protected by the security of your iPhone (passcode, Face ID / Touch ID, iOS app sandboxing). We do not operate a VOID cloud account where your progress could be breached on our side.

11. International availability

VOID may be available for download in multiple countries through the App Store. The game runs on your device wherever you play it. We do not transfer your progress internationally because we do not receive it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy if the app’s practices change (for example if a future version introduced online leaderboards). When we do, we will post the revised policy at this URL with an updated effective date.

If VOID ever began collecting data off-device, we would update this policy and App Store Connect App Privacy disclosures before that behavior shipped.
